Decor for the Holidays

We are taking out the Christmas tree today. My little girl is very excited and so am I. Its that time of the year once again and welcoming a new baby soon makes it doubly exciting. This coming Christmas, we'll be four! A new addition to the family is always a happy thing isn't it?

Anyway, I started shopping for Christmas decors as early as two weeks ago and to date I am done. Right now though, I'm thinking of replacing our old rugs to compliment the Christmas decors I bought. I already told the husband about it and he gave me go signal to do so. I am thinking of investing on the Persian Rugs I saw online the other day. Hand Knotted Rugs are also nice at http://www.infinityrugs.com/ and I can't wait to order one in time for the holidays. It says in the website that the rugs are ready to ship in just a few business days so I need not worry if my order will come in time for Christmas. Oh, I'm really excited. This is going to be a very memorable and fun Christmas for our growing family I'm sure. With our relatives coming over and feasting on home cooked meals, surrounded by nice decors I personally chose, its going to be tops!

Being on my 7th month of pregnancy now, its kinda hard for me to look for really nice Maternity Clothes. Maternity Wear from where I am from are not exactly what I am looking for as they are not as stylish as I want them to be. The least a pregnant woman needs is old fashioned maternity clothes you know! Take for example last week where I attended a wedding of a friend and it took me weeks (I'm not kidding) to look for the a formal Maternity Dress I can wear for the event. I actually almost gave up and was already thinking of not going as I couldn't find anything decent to wear. I told the husband that I'm not going but he insisted I should so I settled with a dress I really don't fancy at all but I have no choice. Just the other day though, I stumbled upon a website that sells really stylish Maternity Clothes and boy was I delighted. Tomorrow I'm heading to Rosemont to finally enroll Sophia for their Nursery class for SY 2008-2009. Honestly though, there is still a teeny weeny part of me wondering if I'm making the right choice. I just hope and pray to God I am. Any parent would want the best for their kids right? And I am just exactly one of them. After all the time I spent to give this school issue a thought, here I am still not 100% sure. I guess I got to realize now that we can never really be a hundred percent sure on certain decisions, on certain things. Especially if it involves the future of our children. I know I am thinking too far ahead and being too sigurista to a fault maybe but hey, I just can't help it. No matter how I try not to worry too much and to take things slow, I just can't. Whenever people say that I should relax as its just pre-school, I would want to blurt out that a child won't probably need as much of a great school than now as these early stages of her school life are most crucial to what she will become in the future - study habits, views in learning etc.

All I really want is to instill the love for learning as early as now. I fervently wish I am and will achieve that goal for her in choosing Rosemont.

As I wrote in my previous entry, we are now enrolling Sophia in Rosemont for SY 2008-2009. Well, let me correct that statement. I already enrolled the little girl last week actually. I even got her uniforms na, haha. Talk about one excited mommy here!!! She's going to the Nursery afternoon class though as no more slots for the morning already. Ayan, ang bagal ko kase magpareserve. My fault! All the while I thought I was early na but apparently, to Rosemont's standards, I inquired and applied late already.

Anyway, here are the little girl's uniforms. The second is the PE uniform to be worn every Friday. Don't you think the little girl will look oh so cute in them?!?

Visited Brent South Campus and what can I say? I’m impressed. I am, really - with the classes, the surroundings and with the people. Well, atleast those I’ve talked to anyway. People there are so nice! When I stepped inside the campus, parang wala ako sa Pilipinas! Haha I guess that’s one part that explains the SKY ROCKETING tuition fee. It’s almost like buying a car every year, haha.

Anyway, on to my kwento. I pretty liked what I saw although I didn’t get to see the students in the middle and upper school. I had good vibes with the school honestly but the thing is this …

Apparently, Sophia is not eligible to enter their Pre-K yet as kids in this class are supposed to be four by December. Sophia will turn four not until next year - March. She is eligible to enter the pre-school classes though at Brent in ATC but Brent ATC is closing down already this coming May which leaves me no choice but to look for a school to enroll the little girl this June (SY 2008-2009). I wonder now if this is a sign. You all know how I’m having apprehensions of sending Sophia to Brent right? Just so you know, I even pray for it, asking HIM for signs. I wonder now if this is somewhat a sign HE is giving me. Oh well …

Jon and I talked and we came up with the decision to let Sophia go to Rosemont for this school year and we’ll just see what happens next. We have got one whole year ahead of us to really think about it on whether we’ll let her transfer after a year or make her stay in Rosemont and just go straight to Woodrose by grade 1. We’ll see how it goes. We’ll observe Sophia at Rosemont first and just decide after. So I guess my school hunting is not yet over, far from over.

1) Sophia loves playing pretend. She would ask me to put a dress on her and make her wear my “glass shoes” so she could be Cinderella.

2) She adores Dora, period.

3) She used to look like her dad but she’s now a carbon copy of me. Walang aangal, haha.

4) She hates chocolates. Any kind - choco cakes, choco candies, choco ice cream and even choco drinks. Lucky me!

5) She LOVES sinigang - baboy, hipon or isda. When I say love, she can eat it over and over and over and over again. Even when we’re on trips abroad, she looks for sinigang. While in restos too, she’ll order sinigang.

6) She loves smiling for the camera and having her picture taken.

7) She loves to dress up - for any occasion.

8 ) She is very inquisitive. She never runs out of questions with follow up questions even. Never ending “whys” I’m telling you.

Since a lot of you are asking how our interview with the officer at the US Embassy went, I decided to post the questions we were asked here. The interview was really brief I'm telling you. It was the waiting and falling in line that took so long. We got so hungry! Not to mention, we woke up so early as our interview was set at 8am. We were at the Embassy by 7am and got interviewed almost 10am already.

The questions were very basic and simple. Here they are:

1) What is the purpose of your trip?
2) Have you been to the US?
3)What do you do? (asking Jon)
4) How did you get into that business?
5) How many pigs do you have? (business is piggery kasi)
6) You have a sister studying in the US? Where and what course?
7) How about you, what do you do? (asking me now)

Thats it! He didn't even ask for any document. Easy huh? He just looked at our passports and voila ten years multiple. Kaya to mommies out there who are still having second thoughts, stop worrying and try applying na :) Buzz me if you need help :) I got all the help I need from Abie so I would want to pay it forward :)

I promise to sleep early tonight and give my laptop a rest. I'm still half done tinkering what and what-not it can do but for petes sake, I need some sleep. My husband thinks so too. He finds it funny that I stay up late ever since he handed me the laptop. Well, I am still familiarizing myself with it thats why. It has features that are new to me as my good old desktop computer just don't have any of them. I'm no techie person thats why and I was completely satisfied with my desktop computer just so you know. I do appreciate and welcome such gifts like this laptop though :D HAHA.

Anyway, I hope in a few more days, I'll be able to master what this new toy has in store for me.

party plans

Sophia’s 3rd birthday is just a month away. As for our plans, for the first time, none yet. Let me correct that, we have plans but nothing’s really definite yet as of the moment.

Here are my options …

A school party - Will just get food from Jollibee and hire their mascot. This will be fun and less expensive as Sophia will get to celebrate with her classmates.
Jollibee Party - No explanation needed . Which branch, that is the question.
Big Red Barn or Blue Whale Grill Party (both at Fun Ranch) - This sounds fun but is also expensive, LOL! I doubt it if we can still squeeze a budget for this as we’re planning on an out of the country trip the same month - March. Also a downside for this party, Sophia’s classmates might not be able to attend as its far from Alabang and I’m sure the little girl wouldn’t want that as she’s super close to her classmates.
Pixie Forest Party - Pixie Forest is a small magical park-like atmosphere complete with rides and a picnic grove at the third level of Festival Mall in Alabang (same place Toddlers Unlimited is). They have party packages and whats nice is the party continues as kids have a grand time after the party with their ride-all-you-can wrist tags which they can use the whole day. I have yet to inquire though how much a party would cost there.

So far these are our plans. We have yet to decide on one.

For a backgrounder, read this first.

I never thought that school hunting will be this hard. For petes sake, we’re just talking of preschool here you know.

As I previously said, to this day, Jon and I are yet to come up with a decision on where to send Sophia this coming June. Although we have paid the reservation fee at Rosemont, we still haven’t disregarded the option of sending Sophia to Brent School South Campus which is a good ten minutes away from our house. Honestly speaking, we have been toying with the idea of sending Sophia into an International School before but we never really took it seriously. Well, not until now that we feel that the little girl is up for a bit of drilling and is ready for big school as she’s already 3.3 yo by June which will make her eligible for Nursery. She spent a great year at Toddlers Unlimited but I believe its time for her to move on.

When Jon and I were discussing, Brent School came up. Jon was convinced its the better choice. And after reading Apols post regarding the school and its International Baccalaureate System which means that if you graduate from an IB certified school (which Brent is) you won’t have to take an entrance exam when you go to college in US or in UK, I am almost convinced too. But not quite. I was deeply thinking about it and for some reasons, I have apprehensions of sending Sophia to Brent. I am worried that Sophia might not be able to adapt to the kind of environment they have there. I am afraid that she might be left out as most of her classmates will be foreigners (this I’m not sure naman and I have yet to see, haha). I am wondering if Sophia will thrive in the setting Brent School has to offer as my initial perception is kids there will have different lifestyles, values and beliefs from us. Maybe, opposite even. I have countless worries. Not to mention the sky rocketing tuition fees! I have all the figures actually as I already inquired. Costs start from $6,000 to $12,000 a year (Kinder to Grade 12). I told Jon about my concerns and he took them well. So well that for a while we haven’t brought Brent up again in any of our school discussions.

Not until today.

My FIL and MIL came to visit today. While in the middle of discussion, my FIL asked about where we’re sending Sophia this June. We told him of our indefinite plans and how we were not too keen on sending her to Brent anymore for personal reasons. What my FIL told us after (which I can’t clearly remember now) makes Jon and I rethink our plans for our little girl. He somewhat convinced us that we should not worry about small things as we shouldn’t underestimate what our daughter can do (smart daw ang apo niya, LOL!). We shouldn’t think so far ahead according to him too like sending Sophia to college in the US etc. Well, he could probably say this because sending a daughter to school in the US is not new to him. My SIL is currently studying in Florida thats why. We shouldn’t scrimp daw on education as it’s the best gift we can give Sophia. But in my mind, is Brent actually the best? In short, now we’re back to square one. We are again seriously considering Brent School for Sophia.

Now, I need your thoughts. First off, are my concerns valid or not? Am I really worrying too much? I’m not familiar with how International Schools are being run so I have no idea. And last but not the least, my question to all of you, If you have the means to send your kid to Brent or any International School for that matter, will you send him/her there? Why? I’m looking forward to hearing from you. I hope to get as much feedbacks as I could. Help us end our misery

Now that Jon and I are finished furnishing our house after almost three years, we are now turning our focus on fixing his office space on the other side of our lot. He had an office constructed here at home for him to have a place to meet and entertain his business associates and agents. As we looked around though, apparently, office furniture doesn't come cheap too just like house furnishings. So for now, his main priority is to find the perfect office desks that will fit his office space. He's specifically looking for highly durable modern minimalist desks that will compliment the look of his office. We want something that not only looks good but is also of high quality. We have a lot for the year. Plan is the operative word, LOL. I hope we get to push through with all of them though as once I get pregnant and have a second baby, traveling will be a lot harder, I assume.

As of the moment, I made Jon agree on two international travels already :) Destinations I'm not divulging yet, hehe. I'm still haggling for a third but no assurance yet. Still, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. We're currently trying to settle some terms but if and when we manage to compromise, most probably, it'll be clear :) I wish!

Thinking about all our travel plans for the year makes me so excited. I can't wait! There's so much to look forward to 2008 :) 2007 was a good year for us, travel wise, but I'm hoping this year will be as good too :)

I'm still yayaless as of the moment (read here) so I still can't stay in front of the pc for more than an hour. Whenever I have the chance to sneak in a few posts, it has to be my expiring tasks you know ;p

Anyway, to make the most of my time, I bought Jon's laptop this morning. I was at Starbucks while waiting for Sophia's class to finish and I was able to write a couple of posts which were all expiring today. Hay, buti na lang :)

Tomorrow at 9am, Jon and I are off to Rosemont for our interview. You see, parents are to be interviewed first even before the kids get to have their turn. I wonder what it'll be all about. Jon canceled an important meeting for it, you know. Our motto has always been "family first" daw, yeah right! I hope it goes well :) Wish us luck!

It's almost summer and this means beach time once again. Ever since I gave birth, I was never really excited of summer time anymore as I can't wear two piece swimsuits ever again. The replacement yaya (her previous yaya who recenlty just gave birth) is coming not until Saturday so it’s all me and the little girl until then. My pc time now is very short - two hours a day the most so pardon me for not getting back on your tags, comments and whatevers. Regular programming will probably resume Sunday, LOL! After all the searching for that perfect "dressy" silver shoe, I gave up and got Sophia these silver flats from Rustans yesterday for tomorrow's wedding. I was supposed to get her ballet flats from Gingersnaps but they don't have her size anymore so I had no more choice. The dad said these looked fine though and the little girl loves them and she calls them her "glass shoes".

I have been trying to find the perfect silver shoes for Sophia to wear this Saturday for my cousin’s wedding but I couldn’t get to see one I like. Most shoes in silver that would perfectly match with her flowergirl gown usually don’t have her size. They are mostly for one to two year olds. How sad is that? The silver shoes available in her size are all ballet shoes which I am veering away from as much as possible. I wanted to get her nice silver “dressy” shoes, if there is ever such a term. You'll never see my little girl without her baby pig. She has around 7 toy pigs of all kinds but she loves this pig best. This specific pig which I gave Jon when we were still bf/gf some 4 years back is Sophia's favorite plush toy of all time. Among her hundreds (yes, hundreds) of plush toys, from Minnie Mouse to Winnie the Pooh to Barney to Piglet to Dumbo to Elmo, this old pink baby pig is her one and only choice. She never sleeps without it by her side and never goes anywhere without it (unless you want her to throw a tantrum!). Yes, you guessed it right. This pig has been to every country we have visited too. Jon tried buying her other "nicer-looking" pigs but the little GIRL just won't trade this old one for anything. We really wonder why. Sophia and this pig are really inseparable. Until when, we don't exactly know. So in the meantime, we'll take this pig everywhere we go. And I mean EVERYWHERE :)

school hunting ends

For some background, read this first.

I took Sophia to Rosemont (Woodrose Preparatory School) in Alabang this morning to see what she has to say about the school and to be able to personally inquire too. She's turning three this coming March making her eligible to join the Nursery Class of Rosemont. On our way there, Sophia kept on asking a lot of questions like why do we need to check out a new school, if Rosemont's going to be her new school etc. I told her to look around and tell me if she wants the "new" school.

Once we got there, I was greeted by the school director as I had made prior appointment. Too bad we were not able to observe classes though as kids were busy practicing for a certain school program that I failed to take note of. Mrs. Del Rosario showed me the classrooms though while Sophia explored the play area. Classrooms were neat, not exactly new but was within my expectations. The kids looked very well behaved as I noticed. They showed me the Nursery Classes and I must say, they all look big kids to me. I wonder if it's with the uniform or something. The nursery class is for the 3-4 year olds by the way. It's a big question on my mind now if Sophia will be as behaved as them by the time she joins the class.

Overall, I must say I'm pretty much satisfied with what I saw and is most likely (unless I find a better alternative within Alabang too) to enroll Sophia there by June. The little girl loved it too and didn't want to leave, haha. She loved saying "hi" to the kids and playing in the playground. I got some application papers already and is about to complete the requirements before scheduling an interview. The parents are to be interviewed first before the kid gets assessed. Oh diba?

Are we really saying goodbye to Toddlers Unlimited already? I guess, yes.

One reason why I tried blogging and soon fell in love with it is because I get to document every little or big thing that happens to me and my family. My blogs serve as my online diary for a while before I was able to earn from them through paid blogging. To this date though, they still serve the same purpose nonetheless. They just gave me added perks like earning a little on the side :)

Anyway, this was how my 2007 went with this blog as my witness ...

January - As I reread my previous posts, I lost my two helpers on the Eve of New Year. Did the cooking all by myself and with the maid I borrowed from my MIL. My in-laws were in the US that time so we spent the New Year with a friend here at home. Around this time, I was also preschool hunting for Sophia.

February - I had an anonymous reader who left a very judgmental comment on my cbox. This time of the month, I was busy preparing for Sophia's 2nd birthday.

March - Sophia's 2nd Birthday Party here at home. We flew to Bangkok the next day after her birthday party too.

April - Enrolled Sophia at the summer program of Toddlers Unlimited. My ssiter graduated from college too and our friends, JR and Mimi got married.

May - Went to HK Disneyland the second time around with my family and some relatives.

June - Singapore trip with Jon's family. Shopping at its best as it was The Great Singapore Sale. Sophia, at this month, officially became a preschooler too. Enrolled her full time at Toddlers Unlimited in Alabang. June was also my birth month by the way.

July - Our 3rd year wedding anniversary. Had the best and so far the wildest despedida party for our good friend, Xandra.

August - Sophia is officially potty trained. She went to school without any nappy on.

September - I gave in and ventured into paid blogging like everyone else.

October - Australia Trip! Our best trip so far :)

November - Sophia's Halloween Party. She came to school as a bumblebee to everyone's delight. Got compliments from fellow mommies with her costume.

December - Christmas 2007. Sophia's best Christmas so far as she's old enough to understand and appreciate what Christmas has to offer :)

I wouldn't have remembered all these without the help of blogging so I am loving blogging more and more. It helps me remember things and gives me moohlah! Who wouldn't love it then?!

She was true to her word. Sophia’s yaya that is. She said she’ll come back on the 3rd and she did. Honestly, there was a teeny tiny part of me wondering if she’ll ever be back and stay true to her word. After all, she doesn’t owe me money or anything and can easily tell me over the phone that she won’t be back and that she’s sorry. I’ve just heard too many of those incidents believe me. But I guess, she was and is never one of those people who don’t keep their promises. Some people are just maybe really born principled and with a good heart, don’t they?

I am real glad she’s back and she has really earned my trust once more. Too bad though she’s leaving for good next month because of certain circumstances beyond her control.

So far, I’ve been really blessed with good yayas for my little girl. I’ve only had two, could that be why? The replacement next month is just as good as she has been Sophia’s previous yaya since she was three months old but has to leave as she got pregnant.

christmas day and beyond

Last Christmas we trooped from South to North all day. We started the day and left the house at around 10am to dash to a sumptuous lunch at Ama’s house (Jon’s lola, father side) in Sta. Mesa. We stayed there for an hour and a half and left for San Luis, Pampanga (after eating so much lechon de leche!) where my family and relatives from my mom’s side are waiting. We arrived at around 2:30pm and stayed there until about 4pm. It was nice seeing my relatives - cousins, titos, titas and their kids again. Sophia was all over the place as usual. She was saying hi to everyone and wanted to play all the time. Too bad I don’t have pics of the little girl with her cousins though. They were in my sister’s digital camera so I’m just leaving you with these pictures taken with my in-laws in Sta. Mesa. Don’t she look just like every inch of lady already with her outfit?!?! I think so! And so does everybody who saw her that day

By 5pm, we were in my mom’s house in San Fernando where we stayed for two nights. Would you believe then that by this time, I found out that I left my BIG BAG of clothes at home?!?! Yes, Jon and my clothes! Ayayay!!!!!

I borrowed house clothes from my mom while Jon borrowed from my brothers for the two nights that we stayed in my mom’s house. The thing is, we were to attend a Christmas Party with my high school friends at Fontana the night of the 26th with red and white as theme so imagine how pissed I am of not having the clothes I prepared for us to wear. Nevertheless, we still attended of course as a friend of mine, Yvette, was going to kill me if we didn’t. It has been ages since we had a get together so I needed to go. This explains these photos:

I was wearing my mom’s blouse She didn’t have a red blouse that looked “nice” on me so I got the one I’m wearing instead.

That night was definitely one night I won’t forget - ever. One for the books. No, I’m not sharing why but goodness, I swear, I never felt as nervous in my entire life. It was ONE HELL OF A NIGHT. Looking back now, we can’t help but laugh at the whole incident. But we all got the scare of our lives that night, that one’s for sure.

Oh goody, it’s the second day of December. Can you believe it?!

Oh my, oh my! Twenty three days to go before Christmas and I am not even half way on my Christmas shopping wish list yet. Not even 1/4 if I may say. Ayayay. I need to get things done - asap.

To double check, I re-wrote my Christmas Shopping list and as a final count, I have 25 godchildren. Jon, on the other hand, has 23. So thats 48 gifts solely for our “inaanaks”. Count in gifts for pamangkins, titos and titas and friends. The list will number to about a hundred or so. Can you imagine that? Oh well, as I would always say, Christmas always means spending as it’s a time for giving. No matter how other people would contest my thinking, yun pa rin yun. But as you all know, Christmas is my favorite holiday of all time too. I just love giving out gifts to everybody. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. I bet Jon doesn’t feel the same way though. LOL.

Where were you last Thursday during the Manila Pen bruhaha?

I was with Sophia at Gymboree Alabang painting pigs and sheeps with our bare hands when I overheard a dad on the phone talking about a coup in Manila Pen. So, the ever tsismosa that I am, I eavesdropped, LOL. That was how I found out of how Trillanes, our elected senator, walked out of his Makati hearing and walked his way to Manila Pen with Gen. Danny Lim and former Vice President Teofisto Guingona. Note that while walking, Trillanes was calling on people to join him and that it was time to call for a change.

Oh Gawd, he did it again.

As soon as I entered the car, I called Jon and asked him about what was happening. He did not know a thing, haha. This was at around 12:30pm already. We got home and I immediately turned on the TV and there it was all over the news. Trillanes was inside Manila Pen with the other Magdalo soldiers and a few other individuals. I was glued to the TV since. I watched the news the whole day. I was up to date to what was happening. From the time they gave the 3pm deadline to the tank barging on Manila Pen's door lobby, I was watching. I didn't expect the latter though. Who would have? Goodness.

When Trillanes stepped down and surrendered, I can't help but feel sorry for him. He failed - again. This time, he made "damay" pa more people other than the already poor Magdalo soldiers. The guy badly wants change obviously but I guess change cannot always be achieved this way. We cannot have the Erap-Gloria 2001 stunt all the time you know. But I just have to say that I admire Trillanes' courage, period. Although I guess he already got the message clear by now - people have got better things to do and mind than join him call for a change in the government at these hard times.

Who wouldn't want to show and tell the whole world about the new member of the family? As a mom, I know how it is to be uber proud of our bundle of joy. After all, I am one proud and doting mother to a two year and a half old little girl. She is my world, my life and my everything. If I could do it over again, I would definitely send out handy baby announcement cards to everyone I know the time she came to light up our lives. I didn't get to do this actually to my regret. But I would definitely love to the next time I become a mom again which I hope to be really sooner.

I did however got the chance to send out baby photo invitations for our little girl's baptism to close friends. Oh, and how they loved them! I got all sorts of compliments. The photo birth invitations were a hit. They had a very personal touch so I find them as the perfect way to tell our family and friends about our much awaited awaited beautiful baby. Don't you think so too?

Sophia's first ever school program is done yesterday. Toddlers Unlimited had their "Teenie Halooweenies" Program yesterday and here's the link to the very SHORT video I took from my digital camera. I was the photographer while Jon was the videographer, doting parents I may say :)

I'm trying to squeeze in blogging as the little girl takes her afternoon nap. She isn't fully well still. Far from it, actually. She had fever again this morning. I've been closely monitoring her now and so far no fever again. I hope tuloy tuloy na or I'll lose my mind already. I really hate the feeling when Sophia gets sick. I know all mommies can relate to me.

IF Sophia gets hot again when she wakes up later, I'm definitely taking her to the hospital na for blood tests etc... Hay, I HOPE wag naman. She has a bad cough by the way. She almost always vomits after she eats because uubuhin siya. Hay, pumayat na nga :(

I'm now keeping my fingers crossed, hoping for the best. Will let you all know.

when sophia met cinderella

Sophia, together with the kids and teachers of Toddlers Unlimited Alabang went to watch the Musical Play Cinderella for Kids at the “on-stage” in Greenbelt last Friday. Jon dropped me, Sophia and yaya while he went somewhere to meet a friend. We left the house at 9am and we arrived in Greenbelt after 30 minutes. The show will not start until 10:30am pa. We were an hour early so we ate at Jollibee first and there were sure a lot of kids with their mommies and yayas waiting for the show just like us. We went in around 10:15am and the show started on time. We had good seats; we were on the third row from the stage. Tickets, by the way, were super cheap lang :)

My little girl was such a darling the entire show. She was just sitting on her own seat as she gets wide-eyed with almost every scene (with a little comments here and there like “why is Cinderella not wearing slippers, mommy?”, “where is Cinderella?”, “bad bad bad sisters!”). The show was really nice. I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. I love how they incorporated audience participation during the show itself like when “Prince Charming” went around having kids try on Cinderella’s glass slipper. Oh, the kids had a blast. Take your little girls to the show if you have time and I’m sure they’ll enjoy it (that is if they are fond of Cinderella or are familiar with her story at least).

Sophia's turning exactly 2.5 yo tomorrow. In line with this, let me share with you random trivias about our little *spoiled-rotten* princess :)

Favorite expression : Oh my gosh, Lord.
Would you believe that?! She heard me say this a couple of times and she never forgot about it.

Favorite food : Sinigang (be it pork, beef, shrimp, fish)
She got this from me. I'm a sinigang addict :)
Favorite color : Green
I don't know why, really. She just said so. ;p
Favorite animal : PIG!
She obviously got this from her dad. We never go anywhere without her mommy and baby pig (yes, even when we travel out of the country, we bring them along). She never sleeps without these two pigs by her side.

I will post her book collection one of these days. I've been actually on a lookout for a nice bookshelf for her but to no avail. Her books cannot fit in her big drawer anymore.

We party with Otis and his pals every night before going to bed. The daddy tried to make her watch other cartoon movies like Surf's Up, Chicken Little, Monsters Inc. but not one appealed to the little girl like Barnyard did.

She recently had these as pasalubong from her "ama" who came from the US. She never goes out of the house without wearing them since.

to shop or not to shop

So okay, Sophia and I are having a kikay blog, but are we kikay enough? Well, it depends how you define kikay actually but we do love to dress up anyway so I guess we are *wink*. We or more of I, are not really into what's "uso" (the in thing) because I'm a very boring dresser I tell you. I almost always stick to the basics and I like it that way. It may be outdated to some but that's where I'm most comfortable in and I know I damn look good on it no matter what, LOL. Most importantly, Jon prefers it that way too :p He's really not attracted to trendy outfits. This also goes for Sophia where the daddy prefers the little girl to dress up in basics like the mommy :)

You'll most likely see me in capris and shirts whenever I'm hiting the mall or anywhere near lang. Capris and shirts are my staples. Next would probably be jeans. I rarely really dress up, only when there are occassions to attend to. But I do love to shop, shop, shop and shop some more to my husband's dismay, LOL.

On to Sophia, the little girl probably has more than enough clothes to wear in her lifetime, HAHAHA. But the mommy can't stop buying! (to my husband's dismay once again, LOL) I always knew that having a little girl will make me go broke, LOL. There are just so many cute outfits for little girls out there that I simply can't resist. So I make up all the excuses I could think of to justify why I need to buy, buy, buy and buy some more :D
